RCVS Practice Standard Scheme

We've done it!

Over recent months, the whole team at McKenzie Vets has been working hard towards our goal of achieving General Practice Accreditation from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Scheme and we are delighted to say we have now been awarded this status.

For peace of mind, look for the RCVS accredited practice logo, which indicates that the practice has passed an independent assessment.

This means high standards of care for animals and peace of mind for animal owners who can make a more informed choice.

The RCVS Practice Standards Scheme is a voluntary initiative which aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care.

Through setting standards and carrying out regular assessments, the Scheme aims to promote and maintain the highest standards of veterinary care.

To become accredited, practices volunteer for rigorous assessment every four years and will have met a range of minimum standards including hygiene, staff training, certain types of equipment and cost estimation procedures.

Practices are also subject to spot-checks between assessments.

McKenzie Vets previously held the Core Accreditation but by investing in staff training, equipment and protocols, and demonstrating to the RCVS inspector the high standard of care given to our patients both at front of house and behind the scenes, we have moved up to become a General Practice Accredited Practice.

Well done team!
