Titre Testing

As an alternative to annual vaccination against Parvovirus, Distemper and Canine Hepatitis we can offer antibody titre testing in dogs. We still recommend vaccinating against Leptospirosis.

Mylo

Worming and Flea / Tick Preventative Treatment

We have a range of prescription strength options to prevent your pets picking up parasites including potentially dangerous lungworm, toxocara, tapeworm, fleas, mites and ticks.

Puppy and Kitten Services

In addition to primary vaccination courses, microchipping and parasite treatment, seeing your puppy or kitten regularly at the surgery for weighing and cuddles is invaluable for socialising and making sure they are not scared coming to the vets later in life.

Consultations

We understand what a worrying time it is when your pet is poorly. We're here to give a full clinical examination and discuss treatment plans with you to get them back to full health again.

Regular Health Checks

Regular check ups will help with early diagnosis of any illnesses and keep your pet in tip top health.

Senior Pet Care

As our pets get older they are often more prone to developing health issues such as arthritis, heart disease, kidney disease, obesity and dental problems. The sooner these problems are picked up, the more we can do to keep your pet healthy and happy for as long as possible.

We can offer many options for ongoing care, both with medications and other alternatives such as acupuncture, laser, nutritional advice and behaviour modifications.

End of Life Care

When the sad time comes to say goodbye our experienced, caring vets can make it a little easier. We can give advice and guidance on how to make difficult decisions, and help to make your pet's final passing peaceful and gentle.

Neutering

We offer neuter operations for female and male dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets.

Our brand new digital x-ray developer gives even better images to aid in diagnosis of sick and injured pets. We also offer BVA Hip and Elbow Scheme x-ray as recommended by the Kennel Club for breeders.

Ultrasound

Our ultrasound examination can also aid diagnosis of many conditions as well as being used for pregnancy scans.

Laser and Acupuncture

These are both available at Mckenzies and have many uses, from pain management of chronic conditions like arthritis and ear problems to speeding up wound healing.

Fully Equipped Lab and Microscopy

Our in house lab facilities means we can do many blood, urine and faeces tests at the surgery allowing for same-day test results.

Pet Health Club

Our Pet Health Club is an affordable way to spread the cost of routine care as well as giving discounts off other treatments such as neutering and long-term medications.

Nutritional Advice

Whether for a medical problem such as obesity, diabetes, intestinal or skin issues, or just for advice on life-stage diets, our vets and nurses have all had nutritional training to help you decide what to feed your pet. Our vet Nadia can also advise on the nutritional and husbandry needs of more exotic species.
